Bio
Roy Strong was born and raised in Detroit. He was introduced to music at a very young age through his upbringing in the church. He acquired much of his musical knowledge from his mother Mary Strong. Roy is a dynamic vocalist and drummer with an unparalleled stage presence. His ability to excel in every genre of music ranging from smooth jazz to R&B, gospel, blues and more, elevates the band to a new level. His musical abilities enable him to play drums both in and out of the pocket, as well as writing and composing. Roy also has outstanding percussion skills perfected over 40 years. (Drums, Lead Vocals, Background Vocals)
Todd Allums, born in Pontiac, Michigan, delivers an astonishing sound with each and every performance, demanding the audiences undivided attention. Todd also takes you on a ride through multiple genres of music, including Jazz, R&B and Blues. He has performed at venues which include the Hart Plaza Amphitheatre, the Phoenix Center, Motor City and Greektown Casinos, the Woodward Dream Cruise, Sinbads Lounge, the Roostertail Lounge and also in Nassau Bahamas. Todd’s ability to capture soulful sounds through the magic of his fingertips tickling the ivory keys will never cease to amaze you. (Keyboard, Background Vocals)
Anthony (Cisco) Cooper has performed at many venues including the River Raisin Jazz Festival, the 30th Annual Jazz in the City Festival and top clubs in the Metro Detroit and Southeast and Northwest Ohio areas. He has shared billing with Alexander Zonjic, Chuck Loeb, Norman Brown, Jeff Lorber and Marion Meadows. Cisco is currently playing with the Freedom Jazz Band which has earned a solid reputation as a provider of great live music by utilizing the unique skills of the best performers. (Vibraphone)
Mike Edwards A true professional at his best, mastering the art of the bass guitar. Mike is a native Detroiter who easily holds down the bottom that gels the band together for a solid and complete sound. He performs genres including Jazz, R&B, Blues and many more. He has played at venues including Motor City Casino, historic Bakers Keyboard Lounge, Cobo Hall, Campus Martius, the Roostertail Lounge, Sinbad’s Lounge and the Detroit Yacht Club. Mike lays down the rhythmic bass notes that completely mesmerizes the audiences with talent and style second to none. (Bass Guitar, Lead Vocals, Background Vocals)
